Andorra – Meeting between Clément Beaune and Landry Riba (22 Oct. 2020)

Yesterday Clément Beaune, Minister of State for European Affairs, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, hosted Landry Riba, Secretary of State for European Affairs of the Principality of Andorra.

They discussed negotiations between the EU and the Principality of Andorra on the association agreement as well as the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and bilateral cooperation on health in that regard.

Since March 2015, the EU has been conducting negotiations with Andorra, Monaco and San Marino, with the aim of reaching a single association agreement that would govern those three States’ access to the internal market. France hopes that discussions between the EU and Andorra result in a balanced, mutually beneficial agreement that takes into account the specificities of the Principality of Andorra while respecting the integrity of the internal market.
