Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will receive Abdelkader Messahel, Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, on April 9.
The discussions will focus on the fight against terrorism and its sources of financing, as well as regional crises, especially in Libya and the Sahel.
The ministers will also work on strengthening our bilateral relations, following President Macron’s visit to Algiers on December 6 and the 4th High-level Intergovernmental Committee meeting held on December 7 in Paris.
France and Algeria are bound together by a special partnership and enjoy close cooperation in all areas. France is the largest foreign investor in Algeria (non-hydrocarbon sector) and the largest foreign employer in the country. Bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to almost €8 billion in 2017.
