Presentation of the first annual Denis Pietton Award by Jean-Marc Ayrault (Paris, November 17, 2016)

Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, presented the Denis Pietton Award to Arbi Chouikh on November 17.

This €10,000 grant, which pays tribute to the memory of Denis Pietton, a diplomat and former President of the Institut français, will recognize, every year, the commitment of a young civil society stakeholder from the Arab world who has distinguished himself/ herself under the SafirLab program.

This program is open to “future leaders” from nine North African and Middle East countries.

The winner of the first Denis Pietton Award, Arbi Chouikh, is a young Tunisian who launched a digital platform project aimed at helping people with disabilities determine the level of accessibility of locations they need to go to.
