Gastronomy – Inauguration of the Ferrières School by Matthias Fekl (November 3, 2015)

Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, inaugurated the Ferrières School in Ferrières-en-Brie (Seine-et-Marne). This internationally oriented school, which began teaching its first intake of students at the start of the 2015 academic year, aims to become one of the top grandes écoles specializing in culinary arts, hospitality and the luxury industry.

The school is located in a chateau; in addition to classrooms and teaching spaces, the building houses a gourmet restaurant and event spaces. It offers college degrees as well as non-credit short courses. A campus providing student accommodation will be built within the next two years.

In conjunction with efforts to improve the welcome extended to tourists, develop digital technologies and promote investment, training is one of the four main elements of the “carré du succès” [four keys to success] defined by Laurent Fabius, aimed at supporting our tourism sector.
