Somalia – Signing of an agreement with the International Organization for Migration (January 14, 2013)

On January 9, France signed an agreement with the International Organization for Migration to implement a project aimed at supporting the vulnerable and internally displaced populations in the Somali provinces of Gedo and Lower Juba, as well as in Mogadishu.

This project, which will receive funding of €1 million from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be jointly implemented by the International Organization for Migration, the Federal Government of Somalia as well as the local authorities and communities.

It reflects France’s determination to work toward the reconstruction of a united Somalia.
