France-Atlanta 2012 is around the corner ! (October 25 to November 10, 2012)
For the last three years now, the Consulate General of France in Atlanta and the Georgia Institute of Technology have presented a series of multidisciplinary events centered on innovation and designed to breathe new life into the French-American cooperation in the U.S. Southeast: France-Atlanta.
3,500 attendees participated in France-Atlanta 2011. Above all, the support and involvement of many French and Atlantan organizations have led to numerous, ambitious cooperation projects, including the strengthening of our cooperation with Georgia Tech; a deepened relationship between sister cities Atlanta and Toulouse; an agreement (MOU) signed between Paris airports and region and the City of Atlanta to develop the two airport zones; and the artistic residencies of Pierre Gonnord, Mohamed Bourrouissa and Frédéric Druot.
Encouraged by the success of the last two editions, the Consulate General of France in Atlanta and the Georgia Institute of Technology is doing it again! France-Atlanta 2012 will be held on October 25-November 10 and will present:
A scientific symposium on public/private sector cooperation in the automotive sector at Georgia Tech;
A scientific symposium on medical cooperation projects between Atlanta and Toulouse in regards to cardiology, cancer research, hematology and technology transfer at Emory University;
A business workshop on water management at the Metro Atlanta Chamber;
A follow-up business workshop on French-American cooperation in the nuclear sector at Georgia Tech;
A public discussion on “Sustainable Airport Areas”;
A jazz concert by French artist Raphaël Imbert;
A photo exhibit by French artist Pierre Gonnord at SCAD;
France-Atlanta at the BronzeLens Film Festival;
A contemporary dance performance by Pierre Rigal and the Compagnie Dernière Minute at the Rialto, the Goat Farm and Elevate Atlanta;
A humanitarian event on urban poverty with Habitat for Humanity and Habitat et Humanisme, including the building of a house in Atlanta by the French community, the renovation of a housing complex in the Metz area (France) by the American community, and a conference at Georgia Tech;
A series of presentations in local high schools on current humanitarian issues by local French-speakers NGO representatives (Carter Center, Care, Peace Corps);
