Appointment of Romano Prodi as Special Envoy for the Sahel (October 10, 2012)

We welcome the appointment by the UN Secretary-General of Romano Prodi as Special Envoy for the Sahel.

Laurent Fabius called Romano Prodi to express our support. A meeting should take place in the near future.

Mr. Prodi will be responsible for coordinating UN action to address all challenges in the region: humanitarian, development, governance and security challenges. France will support his work.
