G20 - Conference: Governing the Internet (May 16, 2011)

On May 10th, the French Embassy in the UK hosted a round-table discussion on Internet governance at the French Institute in London. This conference was organised in partnership with the Financial Times, the LSE, the Franco-British Council, the French Institute and Chatham House.

The panel of experts was chaired by Ludwig Siegele, head of New Technologies at The Economist, and included:

* Nigel Hickson, British sherpa to the G8 on international ICT policy;

* Jean-Michel Hubert, French sherpa to the G8 on international ICT policy;

* Richard Allan, director of policy at Facebook;

* Bertrand de la Chapelle, ICANN Board Member;

* Ian Brown, Senior Research Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute; and

* Gilles Lordet of Reporter Sans Frontières.
