The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) |
The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is the principal organ to coordinate the economic and social work of the United Nations as well as its specialized agencies and institutions (Chapters IX and X of the Charter). It serves as the central forum for discussing international economic and social issues, and for formulating policy recommendations addressed to Member States and the United Nations system as a whole.
