Mondes, les Cahiers du Quai d'Orsay: a publication by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs |
The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs began publishing a new quarterly journal in 2009, in partnership with the publisher Grasset. The journal, entitled Mondes, les Cahiers du Quai d’Orsay, is bilingual, published in English and French.
The articles are written by diplomats stationed abroad or in Paris, as well as by researchers and observers of international trends and developments. The quality and variety of its contributors makes Mondes a valuable resource for researchers, think tanks, international civil servants, and members of the business world. The journal aims to contribute to international debate and share the reflections and analyses developed within the French Foreign Ministry. Each issue includes a section dedicated to a specific international trend or geographical area, as well as an “Analysis and Reflections” section, with articles that attempt to put recent crises or emerging problems into perspective. Mondes covers a broad range of subjects, with topics as diverse as: “Using Diplomacy to Fight Mafia Groups”, “Europe’s New Horizons”, “Africa’s New Dynamism”, “Crisis Diplomacy”, “Maritime Piracy”, “Climate and International Security”, “New balance of power”, “Religion in International Relations”, and “Diplomacy and Intelligence”. Quarterly and bilingual (English and French), Mondes is available in bookstores and by subscription, at the price of 19 € per issue.
