French musicians have never been more active outside France, with a record number of concerts played and recordings released, plus unprecedented levels of media exposure. One French recording in three is sold abroad and export sales can represent 40% to 70% of revenuefor many recording labels.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides support for the initiatives and actions of professionals through the agency of the Institut Français (platforms, tours, coproductions, major events), the French Music Export Office (BEMF) and the French cultural network abroad.
