United Nations - Matthias Fekl to attend General Assembly meeting marking the 10th anniversary of the Convention for the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearance (New York, February 17, 2017)

Matthias Fekl, minister of state at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development responsible for foreign trade, the promotion of tourism, and French nationals abroad, will represent France at the high-level meeting organized by the President of the UN General Assembly for the 10th anniversary of the Convention for the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearance.

This convention is a tool to combat impunity and to support the loved ones of those who have disappeared, whose rights are set forth in this text.

France has actively worked within the UN for 30 years to combat forced disappearances and will continue to fight for the convention’s universal ratification.
