Environment – Launch of the Green Embassy Network in Paris (February 2, 2017)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, in collaboration with the Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) and the Urban Ecology Agency of Paris, launched the Green Embassy Network in Paris this morning in the presence of around 60 foreign embassies.

In keeping with the Paris Agreement, the goal of this network is to foster cooperation, exchanges and best practices and the implementation of concrete projects in foreign embassies in Paris committed to reducing their environmental footprint: improvement of energy efficiency, renewable energy development, waste reduction, protection of biodiversity, implementation of a sustainable procurement policy, etc.

The launch of a Green Embassy Network in Paris is consistent with the sustainable development policy pursued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development through the implementation of the “Exemplary Administration” and “Green Embassy” projects.
