Harlem Désir’s participation in the “Regions of France” seminar on the future Multiannual Financial Framework and the post-2020 Cohesion Policy (Strasbourg, October 26, 2016)

Harlem Désir, Minister of State for European Affairs, visited Strasbourg to close the “Regions of France” seminar on the future Multiannual Financial Framework and the EU’s post-2020 Cohesion Policy.

Cohesion Policy, which accounts for a third of the EU’s budget, plays a key role in supporting investment in all regions.

In France, €26 billion in funding from the European Structural and Investment Funds were allocated to our regions and to the consolidation of growth and job creation over the period 2014-2020.

Harlem Désir reaffirmed the government’s commitment in support of this policy, while discussions are getting underway in Brussels on the future of the European budget. He also stressed the commitment of our regions, which have been entrusted with managing most of these European funds.
