European Union - Foreign Affairs Council (Luxembourg, April 14, 2014)
The Foreign Affairs Council meeting took place on April 14 in Luxembourg, under the chairmanship of Catherine Ashton. The following issues were discussed in particular:
Ukraine/Russia: the ministers discussed the situation on the ground and its consequences for the EU’s relations with Ukraine and Russia.
Syria: the ministers discussed the status of the political process following the failure of the second round of negotiations in Geneva and the possibility of a third round of negotiations. They also discussed chemical disarmament in Syria. They reviewed the humanitarian issues. Conclusions were adopted.
