Launch of the France Université Numérique platform (October 2, 2013)
A digital plan to change the face of higher education in France
The digital plan for higher education was launched on 2 October 2013, ushering in three major changes:
using digital to facilitate every stage of the student’s path to success in higher education
using digital to leverage an overhaul of teaching methods and practices
using digital as a sign of modernity to boost the attractiveness of French universities An online training and education platform
The online education platform known as France Université Numérique (France Digital University) can be accessed at this address: www.france-universite-numerique.fr
From the start of the 2014 academic year, the platform will begin offering online courses (commonly known as massive open online courses or MOOCs) and will host, distribute and promote MOOCs developed by French universities and higher education institutions.
The MOOCs platform will be open for registrations as from 28 October 2013.
Digital as a factor in France’s competitiveness
Digital plays a major role in the competitiveness of our higher education system, especially in French-speaking countries.
This new departure is prompted by the same spirit as the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), an association of close on 800 French-speaking universities founded to promote a French-language international academic community that produces and transmits knowledge.
