Transatlantic partnership – Fleur Pellerin’s meeting with civil society (June 20, 2014)

On June 20, Fleur Pellerin, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, brought together NGOs, associations, industry associations and unions in order to provide an update on the negotiations on the transatlantic partnership.

On this occasion, the minister of state reaffirmed France’s position with respect to the main points: non-tariff barriers, access to government contracts and reciprocity, geographical indications, exclusion of audiovisual services, preservation of collective preferences and European standards on health safety matters, and sensitive agricultural products.

Fleur Pellerin called on civil society to remain mobilized in order to contribute to the debates centering on this long and complex negotiation.
