Economic diplomacy – Sustainable cities – Working lunch hosted by Jean-Marc Ayrault (Paris, June 6, 2016)

Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, received entrepreneurs specializing in the field of sustainable cities, representing SMEs as well as major groups.

This field is of major importance to numerous sectors including urban planning, architecture, engineering, construction, energy efficiency, the environmental sector, urban services, mobility, and digital technology.

The "enhancing urban living" priority export sector accounted for French exports worth more than €12 billion in 2015 and resulted in a trade surplus of €2.2 billion, with successful results in China, India and Mexico in particular.

French firms of all sizes offer an extensive range and excellent standard of goods and services. This is especially the case with respect to the water and sanitation, waste, construction, transport and energy sectors. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development is committed to raising the profile of French expertise, notably by supporting the “Vivapolis” network led by the new export coordinator in this field, Gérard Wolf.
