Interactive infographic: the international commitment of France’s local governments (31 March 2014)
The external action of local governments brings together French and foreign local government authorities to implement cooperation projects in the fields of culture, education, sustainable development and the economy.
The local government authorities support businesses while implementing development projects or conduct policies to support local governance.
From Brittany to Mali and from Strasbourg to Volodga in Russia, more than 13,000 cooperation projects are being run by close to 5000 French local authorities. Partnerships have thus been forged with some 10,000 foreign local authorities in 145 countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with other players, supports the implementation of this decentralized cooperation.
This trilingual interactive infographic in French, English and Spanish presents decentralized cooperation, its players and examples of projects.
