Annick Girardin, Minister of State for Development and Francophony, will chair the 6th meeting of the National Council for Development and International Solidarity today.
The first meeting this year of French development actors will bring together representatives of communities, Parliament, NGOs, trade unions, businesses and the research sector.
It will primarily focus on closer collaboration between the French Development Agency and the Caisse des dépôts et consignations (Deposits and Consignments Fund). This collaboration will make it possible to increase France’s support for the fight against extreme poverty and climate change in developing countries by €4 billion by 2020.
The implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Paris climate agreement will also be included in the agenda.
