Climate – Photography exhibit at Gare Saint-Lazare (Paris, Nov. 27 – Dec. 31)

To raise public awareness of the urgent need to take action, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development is presenting a photography exhibit and a series of four web documentaries at the Gare Saint-Lazare in partnership with SNCF subsidiary Gares et Connexions.

The work on display, created by Quai d’Orsay photographer Frédéric de la Mure, focuses on four areas particularly affected by climate disruption: the Netherlands; Ny-Ålesund, the world’s most northerly scientific base, in Norway’s Svalbard archipelago; the Maldives and its 1,200 islands, 80% of which are located less than a meter above sea level; and Bangladesh, whose land is exposed to both early river floods, cyclones, and rising sea levels.

The exhibit is open to the public through December 31 in the train station’s Great Hall. The web documentaries may be viewed at https://webdocs.diplomatie.gouv.fr/climat.
