Signing of a new framework partnership agreement by France and the World Health Organization (Paris, December 2, 2013)

On December 2, Foreign Minister Fabius will welcome Director-General Margaret Chan of the World Health Organization to discuss the principal health issues demanding an international response.

Their meeting will be followed by the signing of a new partnership framework agreement by France and the WHO (Mr. Fabius and Marisol Touraine will be signing on behalf of France). This agreement defines the priorities of our cooperation for 2014-2019: health security, thanks in particular to the International Health Regulations, which constitute a benchmark; the role of health in the post-2015 development agenda; action on risk factors, particularly with respect to chronic diseases and environmental health determinants; and the strengthening of health care systems, with progress toward universal health coverage.
