France continues to be the favourite place for education in Francophone Africa, whose students represent 52% of the total number of foreign students, i.e. 35,000 students more than in 1998 (+ 48.5%).
with a strong predominance of North African countries, which represent 50% of African student numbers.
And within North Africa, Morocco from where France receives 28,500 students, followed a long way behind by Algeria (17,000 students) and Tunisia (8,253).
Europe represents a quarter of the student numbers.
In Asia it is very clearly China in first place, both in terms of relative influence (30%) and growth in numbers (+ 58% students registered or new arrivals -+ 81% - of the number of visas issued in 2002 in relation 2001).
