REACH
The REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) has just been adopted on its second reading by an overwhelming majority in the European Parliament. It should be adopted definitively by the end of the year by the council so as to enter into force on June 1, 2007.
France played a key role in reaching an agreement, specifically by asking that the most hazardous products be replaced with substitutes when they exist and are less harmful.
