Laurent Fabius’s participation in the EU-Arab League ministerial meeting (November 13, 2012)
Mr. Laurent Fabius will participate tomorrow in the second EU-Arab League ministerial meeting which will take place in Cairo.
On this occasion, France will reaffirm its commitment to supporting the Arab countries in democratic transition and the aspirations of their people, as well as its condemnation of the crimes committed by the Damascus regime.
This meeting aims to strengthen, through concrete projects, cooperation between the EU and the Arab League in several priority areas such as crisis management and electoral observation.
This second EU-Arab League ministerial meeting falls within the framework of the cooperation between the Arab League and the EU initiated in 2008 which is playing an increasingly important role in promoting peace and security in the region, in close coordination with the UN.
