Cultural, scientific and technical cooperation pointillés

Cultural and technical cooperation is modest, but growing in the context of aid provided because of the Darfur crisis (humanitarian) and, to a lesser extent, in support of the North/South peace agreement. Sudan has been part of the priority solidarity zone for our cooperation since 2002. Our bilateral aid is expected to stand at 103 million dollars for the period 2008-2011, including 40 million for the development of South Sudan. Since the start of the Darfur crisis, France has mobilized 209 million euros in national or European aid supporting international efforts, including 63 million between 2007 and 2008.
