Other types of cooperation

In view of the security issues in the Sahelo-Saharan area, Mauritania benefits from France’s support in terms of security and defence. In 2009, activities aiming to reinforce the Mauritanian State’s capacity for sovereignty in the fight against terrorism and organised crime were undertaken, within the framework of a regional approach to Sahelo-Saharan security (Priority Solidarity Fund project « justice and security in the Sahelo-Saharan area »).
