  • Incidents in Libya (02.05.13)

    France strongly condemns the besieging by militiamen of the various Libyan ministries. Such unacceptable acts impede the proper functioning of the government authorities. These repeated incidents underline the urgent need to re-establish security in Libya.

  • Libya – Election of Ali Zidan as prime minister (15.10.12)

    France congratulates Ali Zidan who was elected prime minister on October 14 by Libya’s General National Congress in a democratic and transparent election. Mr. Zidan played an important role in the revolution as it unfolded. We would like him to continue to firmly and effectively pursue the transition process under way, in accordance with the aspirations expressed by the Libyan people in the July 7 election.

  • Libya – Election of the prime minister (13.09.12)

    France, which, from the outset, has supported the aspirations of the Libyan people, will remain engaged alongside the new authorities in order to support them in this task. It would notably like the process of re-establishing the rule of law to continue in a climate of trust and national unity.
