The Iranian nuclear issue

Iranian nuclear issue’s latest developments (November 6, 2009)

The IAEA has demanded explanations from Iran regarding alleged experiments.

The IAEA’s report, which was distributed to all of the members of the Board of Governors, reveals a serious and consistent body of evidence on possible Iranian activities linked to the design and manufacture of nuclear weapons. The IAEA considers the information that it has on this issue to be consistent and sufficiently complete and detailed to justify a response from Iran with respect to the doubts concerning the peaceful nature of its nuclear program.

Furthermore, Bernard Kouchner gave his opinion about this on November 4, 2009. We are waiting for a response from Iran concerning the prospect of another meeting to continue the dialogue on the Iranian nuclear program, as it was agreed in Geneva on October 1.

In addition, we are also waiting for Iran’s response regarding the draft agreement on the enrichment of Iranian uranium for scientific research purposes. This draft agreement was approved by Russia, the United States and France.

We are still waiting for Iran’s response regarding this matter.

Today, once again, we are urging Iran to respond to the IAEA’s questions and to the international community’s expectations.
