Political relations

France is closely following the situation in Guinea in consultation with ECOWAS and the European Union.

It deplores the events of the past few days and recalls that only democratic and transparent parliamentary elections will produce a lasting solution to the crisis in the country.

We are paying close attention to the security of the French community. Our nationals have been urged to limit their movements and respect the advisories to be vigilant and cautious.
