Political relations
The bilateral relationship is trusting and friendly. It was marked by two presidential visits - that of President Jacques Chirac to San Salvador, just after Hurricane Mitch hit (16 November 1998) and that of El Salvador President Antonio Saca to Paris on 22 and 24 June 2005.
