Democratic Republic of the Congo: Security Council’s unanimous adoption of the draft resolution to temporarily reinforce MONUC ( November 21, 2008)

We are pleased at the Security Council’s unanimous adoption of the draft resolution France prepared with its partners, especially European partners, to temporarily reinforce MONUC in response to the urgency of the situation.

The situation on the ground is particularly serious. The ceasefire violations are continuing as are certain atrocities, and the humanitarian situation for the displaced is disturbing.
