Democratic Republic of the Congo
Together with all its EU partners, and as Mrs. Ashton stated yesterday, France demands that the lessons be learned immediately and that the results of the parliamentary elections be compiled under conditions that guarantee transparency and credibility.

France has contributed extensively to the involvement of several international organizations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Accordingly, France has provided the bulk of its funds through multilateral channels.
France pays particular attention to the political situation in the DRC, a country of extreme complexity: the size of the country, the combination of the issues of crisis, end of crisis and development, require especially intense exchanges with national governments and international organizations.
