Based on shared values, the bilateral relationship is confident and friendly.

It has been comforted with the opening of an embassy in Gaborone in July 2001 whose diplomatic mission head is also France’s representative to the SADC (Southern African Development Community).

The official visit to France on March 20th and 21st, 2008 by President Mogae contributed to deepening the political relationship between our two countries.
