France utterly condemns yesterday’s attack in Aden which killed Yemeni army General Salem Ali Qoton, the commander of the southern military region. It extends its condolences to his family and friends.

In these tragic circumstances, France expresses its solidarity with the Yemeni authorities in their courageous fight against terrorism and reaffirms its full support for President Hadi’s efforts to promote stability and security in the country in order to bring the political transition process under way to a successful conclusion in accordance with the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
