Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, is in New York today, where he will meet with representatives of American professionals in the leisure and business tourism sector.
2015 was a record year, with more than 3.6 million American visitors to France. Despite a slight decrease of -2.5 % in 2016, according to initial estimates, the end of the year was especially strong (+3.9% in the last quarter), which bodes well for the first quarter of 2017. France is still the world’s most popular tourist destination.
Matthias Fekl will meet with the American trade press in order to outline the enhanced measures implemented by the government to ensure the safety of all our visitors. He will also present the tourist and cultural event calendar for 2017.
