United States – Execution of a prisoner in Oklahoma (December 4, 2012)
France condemns the execution in Oklahoma of George Ochoa on December 4. This is the 6th execution this year in Oklahoma, making it one of the states with the highest death penalty rate in the United States.
France urges the Oklahoma authorities to put an end to the executions, to observe a moratorium and to initiate a debate on the abolition of the death penalty. It reaffirms its constant opposition to the death penalty everywhere and under all circumstances.
