The post has a budget of €75,900 (2010) for cooperation, led by the Jules Verne French cultural centre, one of the only places of openness and culture for the Turkmen in Ashgabat. It organizes exhibitions, concerts, as well as conferences and training sessions (traditional and professional French classes, teacher training, in particular for those from the four Turkmen schools teaching French). Every year, two or three Turkmen students receive an academic scholarship, primarily in the fields of tourism and agrifood.

Based on the expertise of the Advisory Board on Archaeological Research Abroad, the Foreign Affairs Ministry (DGCID) is subsidizing nearly 160 archaeological missions (from palaeontology to the medieval period) in 65 countries, including:
