France condemns the two attacks in Damascus on March 15 that killed several dozen people.
It expresses its solidarity with Syria’s civilian population, the chief victims of the crisis in that country.
France also condemns the continuing air raids by forces supporting the regime in Idlib, where at least 20 civilians were killed on March 15, and in eastern Ghouta. The regime’s backers must urgently end these ceasefire violations.
As the minister stated on March 15 at the Institut du Monde Arabe, only a political solution in compliance with the terms of the Geneva communiqué and Security Council resolution 2254 will be able to bring a lasting end to the violence and to effectively combat terrorism. France fully supports the resumption of negotiations under the auspices of the UN scheduled for March 23.
