Syria – Humanitarian assistance from France (13 April 2017)

Following the chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development Jean-Marc Ayrault proposed to President Hollande that France send emergency humanitarian aid to the victims and to medical personnel in northern Syria.

The humanitarian medical shipment has just been distributed locally in Syria by the Union des Organisations de Secours et des Soins Médicaux (UOSSM – United Relief and Medical Care Organizations), a partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development.

France thanks the Turkish authorities who facilitated the swift transit of this aid.

These resources were combined with contributions from the Defense and Interior Ministries.
