France is deeply concerned by the crackdown on demonstrations in the city of Nyala, in Darfur, which caused several civilian casualties. It took note of the Sudanese government’s willingness to launch an investigation to determine those responsible for shooting into the crowd, and invites it to get to the bottom of these events as swiftly as possible and to prosecute the perpetrators in the timeliest fashion.
