France-South Africa Season - Laurent Fabius’s participation in the opening of the exhibition entitled "Nelson Mandela: From Prisoner to President” (Paris, May 29, 2013)

Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will today inaugurate at Paris City Hall, alongside Paul Mashatile, South Africa’s Minister of Arts and Culture, and Bertrand Delanoë, Mayor of Paris, the "Nelson Mandela: From Prisoner to President” exhibition which will run from May 30 to July 6, 2013.

This exhibition is a highlight of the opening week in Paris of the France-South Africa Season, which will run until December 2013. It will make it possible, for the first time in France, to present President Mandela’s life story and his fight for equality and human rights through images, films and first-hand accounts.

The South African Season in France, which follows the French Season in South Africa (July to November 2012), will provide an opportunity to discover South Africa’s culture, dynamism and creativity through numerous events to be held in more than a hundred cities in France.
