France and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Political relations

A delegation from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, led by the Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, participated in the COP21 which was held in Le Bourget from 30 November to 12 December 2015. This event helped to highlight our shared commitment in the fight against climate change. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, like the majority of its Caribbean neighbours, was one of the first countries in the world to ratify the Paris Agreement.

30 November 2015: the Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Mr Clayton Burgin, participated in the 21st Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP21, Le Bourget).

Cultural, scientific and technical cooperation

The country is monitored by the French advisor on regional cooperation resident in Saint Lucia. There is an Alliance Française branch in Kingstown which welcomes some 250 students. Most of the French aid to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines now passes through the European Union, notably through the European Development Fund (EDF).
