Morocco – European Union – Ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union (Luxembourg, December 21, 2016)

France takes note of today’s decision by the Court of Justice of the European Union on the agricultural agreement between the EU and Morocco, annulling the initial ruling by the General Court of the European Union of December 10, 2015.

France had supported the appeal lodged by the Council for the annulment of the ruling.

France reaffirms its constant position on Western Sahara: We support the efforts to find a just, lasting and mutually acceptable solution, under the auspices of the UN and in accordance with the Security Council resolutions.

We consider the autonomy plan presented by Morocco in 2007 to be a serious and credible basis for a negotiated solution.

France will continue to work, together with its partners and the EU, toward developing a sound partnership between the EU and Morocco, including in the agricultural sector.
