Libya (Q&A - Excerpt from the daily press briefing - June 12, 2012)
Q : Several members of the ICC have been arrested in Libya. Do you know who is responsible? Do you have any comment? Is it the government? Or factions, tribes?
A : France is concerned by the detention in Libya since June 7 of 4 International Criminal Court (ICC) staff members.
France demands that full light be shed on this situation. It notes in this respect that the Court sent another mission on June 10.
France, whose unwavering support for the ICC is well known, expects Libya to comply with all its international obligations, which should make it possible to resolve this regrettable situation as swiftly as possible.
