Yamina Benguigui, Minister Delegate for Francophonie, visited Lebanon from October 26 to 27 in order to participate in the opening of the Beirut Francophone Book Fair.
On this occasion she met Lebanese President Michael Suleiman, to whom she reaffirmed France’s full support for Lebanon’s stability.
The Beirut Francophone Book Fair, which takes place from October 26 to November 4 and which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, thanks to the support of the Institut français, welcomes members of the Académie Goncourt as guests of honor.
This book fair is a much anticipated event in Lebanon and is one of the largest francophone cultural events in the world. It is notably attended by more than 20,000 students and schoolchildren every year.
