Jean-Marie Le Guen, Minister of State for Development and Francophonie, will visit Haiti and the Dominican Republic from February 6 to 9.
In Port-au-Prince, he will attend the inauguration ceremony of President Jovenel Moise, with whom he will meet. Jean-Marie Le Guen will discuss our bilateral relations, our cooperation programs and programs to boost French language and culture; he will reaffirm France’s support for Haiti.
Jean-Marie Le Guen will then visit Santo Domingo from February 8 to 9, where he will meet with President Danilo Medina as well as several members of the government, including the minister of foreign affairs. He will meet with the French community and will discuss our bilateral relations with key stakeholders involved in the country’s economic and social development.
Since 2012 and the launch of the G8’s maternal and infant health initiative, France has also supported – through the French Muskoka fund – preventive efforts and care for women who have been victims of gender-based violence.
