Gabon - Laurent Fabius’s participation in the New York Forum Africa (May 23, 2014)
Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, attended on May 23 the New York Forum Africa in Libreville.
On this occasion, the minister had discussions with various African and international actors on the development and economic growth of the African continent. As President Hollande indicated at the Elysée Summit on December 6, 2013, Africa is a continent of the future, with which France intends to increase trade in all areas.
In Libreville, Laurent Fabius attended the citizens’ summit, during which he talked about the prospects that are opening up for African youth in particular. He also met with President Bongo, notably in order to discuss the situation in the Central African Republic, maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea and the fight against climate change. The minister’s program also included other bilateral meetings with several heads of state from the region.
