The excellence of our political dialogue with Egypt is the foundation of our rich and balanced bilateral relationship.

Based on our substantial convergences of views on the situation in the Near East, a close political cooperation has naturally been established, illustrated by intense Franco-Egyptian efforts to make it possible to end the crisis in Gaza, our participation in the Sharm El Sheikh Summit (18 January 2009) and our specific role during the Sharm-el-Sheikh Conference on 2 March on rebuilding Gaza.
