France is extremely concerned by the incidents that took place yesterday in Egypt. It condemns this violence which left several people dead and many injured.

The universal values of respect for the rule of law and civil liberties that underpinned the revolution must guide the constitutional reform process under way.

France again urges everyone to demonstrate a spirit of responsibility and to engage in dialogue.
